What Is HIFU and How Does It Work
HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. It delivers precise ultrasound energy to the deeper structural layers of the skin, the same layers targeted in a surgical facelift, without breaking the surface. This stimulates new collagen production and causes existing fibres to contract and tighten, producing a gradual lifting and firming effect that develops over eight to twelve weeks.
We use the Ultraformer III, one of the most advanced HIFU platforms available. Its multi-depth cartridge system allows us to treat different tissue layers in a single session across the face, neck, jawline, and body with precision that other HIFU devices cannot match.
Treatment Areas and Our Approach
HIFU with the Ultraformer III is used to lift and tighten the face, brow, jawline, neck, décolletage, and abdomen. It is particularly effective for clients experiencing skin laxity, jowling, brow hooding, loose neck skin, or post-partum abdominal laxity.
At Clinica, HIFU is always recommended following a consultation. This ensures it is the right treatment for your skin and goals, whether that is HIFU alone or as part of a combined lifting and tightening plan. Some clients benefit most from HIFU in combination with other treatments such as Radiofrequency or Skin Needling depending on their degree of laxity and desired outcome.
