Are You A Candidate?

Just as important as finding the right clinic and practitioner is determining if your skin is suited for cosmetic injections. Your skin quality and medical history all need to be taken into consideration for the safety and best possible outcome.

Unfortunately a lot of conditions can heavily compromise the effectiveness of cosmetic injections. So it is important to inform your technician if you have any existing conditions or are on medication. You may still be eligible for the procedure, but we must be aware to minimise any risks of the treatment.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Pregnancy or breastfeeding: Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should avoid anti-wrinkle injections as the effects of the treatment on the fetus or infant are not fully known.

Allergies or sensitivities: Individuals who are allergic or sensitive to any of the ingredients in the injection, such as botulinum toxin, should avoid this treatment.

Neurological disorders: People with certain neurological disorders such as myasthenia gravis or Eaton-Lambert syndrome should not receive anti-wrinkle injections as they may cause muscle weakness or exacerbate their condition.

Blood-thinning medication: Individuals taking blood-thinning medications such as warfarin or aspirin should avoid anti-wrinkle injections, as they may increase the risk of bruising or bleeding at the injection site.

Infection or inflammation: People with skin infections or inflammation in the area to be treated should not receive anti-wrinkle injections until the condition has fully resolved.

Muscle or nerve disorders: People with muscle or nerve disorders in the area to be treated may not be suitable candidates for anti-wrinkle injections.

Chronic medical conditions: Individuals with chronic medical conditions, such as heart disease or diabetes, should consult with their healthcare provider before undergoing anti-wrinkle injection treatments.

Dermal Fillers

Cold sores: If you have any history of Herpes Simplex (cold sores) on your face, make sure you inform the doctor that you have made your appointment with, one week prior to your appointment; this will allow us adequate time to prescribe a medication to prevent an outbreak.

Pregnancy or breastfeeding: Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should avoid dermal filler injections as the effects of the treatment on the fetus or infant are not fully known.

Blood-thinning medication: Individuals taking blood-thinning medications such as warfarin or aspirin should avoid dermal filler injections, as they may increase the risk of bruising or bleeding at the injection site.

Infection or inflammation: People with skin infections or inflammation in the area to be treated should not receive dermal filler injections until the condition has fully resolved.
